Voices Against Violence Gala, Visual Identity & Event Design

Day One NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young people affected by dating abuse and domestic violence through education, advocacy, legal services, and direct support.

For the Voices Against Violence Gala, I volunteered as a graphic designer and was responsible for developing the event’s visual branding across a range of print and digital touchpoints. The goal was to create a cohesive identity that felt meaningful, recognizable, and aligned with both Day One and the Voices Against Violence initiative, while remaining flexible enough to work across different formats.

The central visual concept was built around the heart as a symbol of love, care, safety, and support. Rather than containing the heart within the layout, I intentionally allowed it to extend beyond the boundaries of the format. This became a visual metaphor for support and compassion that go beyond limits.

The color palette brought together the identities of both organizations: green, Day One’s primary brand color, and purple, associated with Voices Against Violence. A gradient between the two colors helped unify the brands and became one of the key visual elements of the gala.

I applied the identity across invitations, event programs, stage and podium graphics, banners, social media templates, and other digital communications, ensuring consistency across both physical and online environments. The system needed to remain recognizable at very different scales, from a mobile social post to large-format event graphics.

The 2026 Voices Against Violence Gala raised $670 944 to support Day One’s work. I was proud to contribute to the event as a volunteer designer and to collaborate with a team working toward such an important cause.
